First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all healthcare providers for working day and night.
I would also like to thank all the citizens for your cooperation during the long holidays, such as refraining from going out and business shutdown to prevent the spread of infection.
On May 4th, the Central Government announced that the emergency declaration that had been pending until May 6 will be extended to the end of May for nationwide.
The government will keep strict measures in place for the 13 “special alert” prefectures, which includes Ibaraki prefecture.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has set “10 tips for reducing contact by 80%” to prevent infection, as anyone is at risk of becoming infected or infecting others. Please take a look at your everyday life again to protect yourself and people around you.
The City will continue to work on measures to prevent the spread of infection and protect the lives of citizens.
We would like to work together with you to achieve the end of the disease as soon as possible, so we kindly ask for your continued cooperation.
Thank you.
Mariko Ando,
Mayor of Tsuchiura City
